Your transfer request maybe denied in the following limited circumstances:
- Evidence of fraud
- Reasonable dispute over the identity of the person authorizing the transfer
- Domain name is on hold due to payment owed for a previous registration period (including credit card charge-backs)
- Express written objection from the domain name holder
- Domain name is in "Lock" status (Registrars must provide a readily accessible and reasonable means for name holders to remove the lock status. Contact your registrar for assistance.)
- Domain name is within 60 days of initial registration (See Notes Below)
There is a 60 day period after registering a domain name during which you will be unable to transfer domain registration. This is not a Summit Marketing specific rule, but rather a rule implemented by ICANN, the organization that governs domain registrations. For more information, please review ICANN's Policy on Transfer of Registrations between Registrars.
When the Registrant WHOIS email info on a domain is updated an email is sent to both the existing email and the new email address for the Registrant contact. This is due to ICANN's new Change of Registrant Policy.
- Domain name is within 60 days of a previous transfer
- Changing the Organization name for the registrant contact, or the First name and Last name for the registrant contact if an organization isn't the legal registrant for the domain will mean that you are unable to transfer the domain for a 60-day period.
